* vRDPs (Virtual Remote Desktops) require a Windows client or server license. They are required for accessing a specialty server remotely.
** Specialty servers require consultation. We support a wide range on on-premise server software: Accounting, CAD/Design, CRM/Sales, Legal/Case Management. Popular software includes: QuickBooks, Sage 50, Abeldent, PCLaw, and Time Matters.

General Questions

Is there a setup fee?

Yes, onboarding fees will vary depending on where your business data is stored and how many users need to be migrated and set up on the ALT Edge platform. After a short consultation, we will provide you with a quote to complete onboarding. From there, we can select a preferred date to complete the process.

Can I cancel my account at any time?

Yes. Setup fees are refundable up until the services are performed. Equipment can be returned within 14 days, provided it is in like-new condition. There will be a 25% restocking fee for all returned equipment barring any mitigating cirmcumstances.

How long are your contracts?

We offer annual and month-to-month plans.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount on annual plans, when they are paid upfront. We also offer additional discounts if you bundle with other ALT services.

Can I change my plan later on?

Yes, you can change your plan at any time, and are able to add or remove desktop, peripheral, mobile, and specialty server support at anytime.

Onboarding Questions

Can you migrate our files and emails from Office 365 or other popular cloud providers?

Yes, we can help migrate from G Suite, Office 365, Dropbox, and more. We can also help you migrate from other systems and hosting providers.

How long does onboarding take?

Onboarding usually takes 1 to 2 business days.

Will there be a service interruption?

We offer two tiers of migration services: premium and standard migration. The former provides the least service interruption and allows us to migrate each user’s mailbox and files on an individual basis, while the latter is a more cost-effective option that switches the organization’s services as a whole. Our consultants will be able to help you select the best option for your organization.

Technology Questions

Can I use my own equipment with ALT Managed IT?

In order for us to deliver a consistent and reliable service experience to all of our clients, ALT Managed Services must run on the ALT Edge Platform. If your organization has applications running on other servers, we can help migrate them over seamlessly to the ALT Edge Platform. However, if your organization requires you to maintain a dedicated server, we can manage it for an additional fee.

How do I know which server is right for my organization?

After a short consultation, we will help you choose a server specification that best fits your organization’s needs and growth trajectory.

Does the ALT Edge Platform come with a warranty?

For complete peace of mind, we offer a standard three-year warranty on all hardware included with the ALT Edge Platform. An extended warranty is available for up to five years.

Does my organization own its data?

Yes, your organization owns its data—we provide the platform and services to manage it and keep it protected for you.

Where is your helpdesk located and what is coverage like?

Our helpdesk is distributed across all of our offices, providing business hours support for users across North America, from 7am to 7pm. Emergency and off-hours support is also available. Please speak with a consultant for more details.
